The Childhood Cancer Association was formed in 1982 by a group of parents of children with cancer.
Responding to the need that they, themselves, had identified, this dedicated group established the grounds for what is, today, a unique network of peer support. Their commitment was to create perpetual funding and develop services for families in circumstances of a child diagnosed with cancer. Their charter was to provide emotional, practical and financial support to every family and extended family member.
Granting financial assistance to research projects into childhood cancer and related diseases was an important objective then, which remains so today. Requests to Government for principal funding have been denied, and so the Association continues operating independently on a foundation of loyalty and commitment. This will remain our stronghold.
Sudden and unexpected costs occur when a child is diagnosed with cancer. These can impact on a family to such an extent that they create stresses sometimes beyond endurance. The Childhood Cancer Association's role is to support families without question, cost, or prejudice.
Please consider leaving a bequest to the Childhood Cancer Association or contact us for other ways that you can help.
